Leaside Public Library

Needlework (knitting & crocheting)

Thursdays, 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Bring your own knitting or crocheting project, or start something new while learning about different library programs, services and resources. All are welcome.

Make your own soap program

Sat., July 22 – 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to make a bar of soap? Join us for a hands-on soap making experiment and make your own personalized soaps. The program is structured for young adults but all are welcome. Please register in person at the Leaside branch or by phone, 416-396-3835.

Adult board games

Tuesdays, July 4, 11, 18 & 25 – 6:00-7:30 p.m.

Come and join us for a night of fun at the Leaside branch. Bring your friends or come make some new ones as you battle it out over board games. No registration required.

Computers for beginners 1: use the mouse

Wed., July 12 – 10:00-11:30 a.m.

A class on how to use a mouse for absolute beginners with little or no computer experience. We will provide the laptop and equipment. Space is very limited. Please register in person at Leaside branch or by phone, 416-396-3835.

Leadership summer camp for teens

Thursdays, July 6, 13, 20 & 27 – 1:30-3:00 p.m.

Canadian Training Institute: Inspiring Minds is collaborating with the Toronto Public Library to deliver a free event series about leadership. This is a four-part series; youth will learn what a leader is, how to take on leadership roles, and how to be the best leaders they can be. Youth will also learn about different leadership styles, work to identify their own style and strengths as leaders, develop skills to enhance their resiliency and connection to school and the community. Family time and stay-and-play

Tuesdays, July 11, 18 & 25

Enjoy fun activities, stories, songs and rhymes at a staff-led story-time for the entire family. For children (5 years and under) with their parents or caregivers. Thirty minutes of story-time followed by “Stay-and-Play,” a fun opportunity for children and parents to socialize and play. This is a drop-in program.

Volunteers welcome to join the Gard’n Angels working in our community vegetable garden, providing fresh organic produce to Flemingdon Food Bank. Main “work party” day:  Wednesdays, 10 a.m.-noon.
