Readers of Leaside Life will remember that City Council made no decision, this past spring, on the redesign of Toronto’s ward boundaries. Instead, they sent the matter back to their consultants.
The controversy continues! There is no guarantee that the final map of the city will place Leaside in one ward, as opposed to splitting the community into two separate wards, with separate councillors.
The consultants will be holding four public consultation meetings to gather additional public opinion:
- SEPTEMBER 14 (Toronto City Hall – Committee Room 3, 7 – 9 pm)
- SEPTEMBER 15 (Scarborough Civic Centre – Committee Room 2, 7 – 9 pm)
- SEPTEMBER 19 (North York Civic Centre – Committee Room 1, 7 – 9 pm)
- SEPTEMBER 21 (Etobicoke Civic Centre – Meeting Room 1, 7 – 9 pm).
Please go to drawthelines.ca for further details. The final report, with recommendations, will be sent to Executive Committee on October 26, and then to Council as a whole.
