Chris Case, who has been involved in Scouting for the past 10 years, says that he would never have believed that he would be sleeping in a tent when the temperature was -20, or eating oatmeal for three meals a day on occasion at camp – and enjoying it!
He’s not the only one. There were close to 100 of them at St. Cuthbert’s Church early last month for a reunion party to celebrate the fact that a bit over 90 years ago, on March 2, 1923, Charles Chambers, Donald Young and William Clewes met at the same church to sign an application for troop charter to start a new Scout troop – No. 69, in Toronto.
In 2013 there are more than 80 young people, boys and now girls too, who are Beavers, Cubs and Scouts connected to the 69th along with their leaders
