The old CIBC bank building at the corner of Laird and McRae will probably become a restaurant.
First Capital Realty, which bought the building in March, has won approval from the Committee of Adjustment for a minor variance so it can create a front yard ground patio and a smaller one on the second floor.
The building has been nominated for heritage designation and the city’s Urban Forestry Division must be approve any changes to privately owned trees on the site.
No restaurant has been chosen yet.
