Leaside Sports Hall of Fame member George “The Chief” Armstrong (inducted in 2015), attended the 2018 Induction Ceremony in the William Lea Room on November 16th along with his daughter Betty Ann Armstrong, right, and granddaughter Kalley Armstrong, left. Betty Ann Armstrong was captain of the 1974-75 Leaside Girls Hockey Association Lancerettes, who, along with the Blazerettes from that year, were inducted into the Hall as the first girls hockey teams in Leaside, and among the first in Ontario. George is a Leaside legend and looks great at 88! Congratulations to the trailblazing Leaside Hockey girls and all the recent inductees.
