According to Toronto’s Eglinton Connects Planning Study there is no consideration being given to increased density/height from east of Bayview to Laird and north of Eglinton east of Laird following completion of the Eglinton LRT.
The area immediately around Bayview and Eglinton and the block south of Eglinton between Laird and Brentcliffe are designated as “focus areas” under study for higher density mixed use.
At Eglinton Connects public consultations this summer residents were clear that they would support mid-rise, but not high rise, at those locations.
Eglinton Connects will hold another set of workshops: Oct. 7, 8, and 9 for the Central Area at Forest Hill Collegiate Institute and on Oct. 8 for the East Area at Jean Vanier Secondary School (Midland and Eglinton) on Oct. 9. Both events start at 6:30 pm. Full details at www.toronto.ca/eglinton.
