Dogs, cats, budgies, hermit crabs and fish are invited to church!
St. Augustine’s at Bayview and Broadway is holding its first Blessing of Animals, at 7 p.m. on Friday Oct. 4, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi.
Pet owners or pet lovers are invited to bring pets of all kinds. The service will last about half an hour, including a fun Bible reading about Balaam’s talking donkey, some re-jigged hymns (along with which dogs are invited to howl), and a personal blessing for each pet. Surprises are promised.
