Owner: Tear down only 20th century part

I spoke to Matt Garnet, of Renaissance Fine Homes:

  1. The request to demolish is a technical application that must be worded as such. His plan is and always was to demolish the 20th century additions and move the original heritage house to the front of the property. Under Section 34 of the Heritage Act, any movement constitutes demolition.
  2. He says it’s not a Renaissance Fine Homes project, but that of 262 Bessborough Inc. and should be referred to as that.
  3. The OMB hearing is not May 12. A specific date has yet to be determined although late June or early July is the likely timeframe.
  4. Garnet is getting a heritage award in May for his work on 7 Austin Terrace. He’s very much in support of heritage properties.
