It was reported last month by a newspaper magazine that Leaside Unite had disbanded. The report of our demise is greatly exaggerated.
Over the next year we will be working with the Leaside Property Owners’ Association (LPOA), SmartCentres, the merchants on Bayview and residents to follow through on the goals of our settlement.
We recently met and have planned further meetings with SmartCentres to ensure the safety and design aspects of the site are in agreement with our settlement.
Secondly, with the assistance of the LPOA, we are in consultation with traffic planners that are able to lead a neighbourhood-led traffic study.
Lastly, we will meet and discuss with Bayview merchants and the local councillor’s office to see how we can assist in the creation of a Bayview BIA (Business Improvement Area).
